Eating fish in Antibes

Unsurprisingly, fish has always been an important part of Antibes. During the Roman Empire, Antipolis was a place renown for the preparation of brine. The reputation of its “garum” was excellent. This sauce made of fermented fish was extremely popular in those times. That’s certainly true, nevertheless I would rather enjoy a sea bream fillet at L’Altro!

Indeed, Antibes is the perfect place to enjoy delicious fish. Many restaurants have a wide range of fish in their menu and if you like cooking, you will certainly find some sea bream ("daurade") or bass ("bar") at the “Marché Provençal”. These two species are the most caught around Antibes. They can be found near the shore almost all year round and are very tasty.
