The neighbour of “Ile Sainte Marguerite” is called “Ile Saint Honorat”. Here too, you can walk through the woods and enjoy fantastic views of the Mediterranean.
But you must also discover the rich monastic history of this island, which dates back to the 5th century. The construction of the fortified monastery was carried out between the 11th and the 15th century and today the buildings are open to visitors. Wine and spirits are produced by the Cistercians monks who live in the island, and make up the “Abbaye de Lérins” community.
“Ile Saint Honorat” is accessible through various ferry companies who operate in Cannes. From there, it takes only 15 min to reach the island.

A côté de l'île Sainte Marguerite se trouve l'île Saint Honorat. Ici comme là-bas, on peut se balader dans la forêt et profiter de magnifiques vues sur la Méditerranée. Mais il faut également découvrir le riche passé monastique de cette île, qui remonte au Vème siècle. La construction du monastère fortifié s'étala du XIème au XVème siècle et les bâtiments sont aujourd'hui ouverts au public. Du vin et des liqueurs sont produits par les moines cisterciens qui vivent sur l'île et forment la communauté de l'Abbaye de Lérins.
