Both cities display a statue of “Les amoureux” (The Lovers) created by Raymond Peynet. Peynet was a French illustrator who drew the famous couple of lovers. The artist coloured porcelain, designed dolls and jewels, illustrated books, created advertising and film posters, produced cartoons… and he chose to settle in Antibes in 1976. The Peynet Museum and Cartoon Museum is on the Place Nationale, in the heart of the Old Town and shows more than three hundred works by the artist.
Come to Antibes and you will have the opportunity to discover a great illustrator, which has four museums devoted to him (two in France and two in Japan).
